Big Dutchman has donated a total of 15,000 euros to support the Dutch solidarity foundation “Stichting Solidariteit Pluimveehouderij” (SSP). The foundation has commited itself to assisting Dutch farmers affected by the avian plague. During the VIV 2003 in Utrecht, this year’s biggest fair for livestock husbandry, Bernd Meerpohl, chairman of the board of management of the Big Dutchman AG, presented Tonny Zents, chairman of SSP, with an oversized symbolic check.
“We gladly support your initiative as you are doing a lot for the future of this industry by encouraging the dialogue with politics and consumers", said Meerpohl at the information stand of the foundation. “At the same time, your activities are a demonstration for the imaginativeness and expert knowledge of Dutch farmers."
Tonny Zents was very pleased with the endorsement and approval of the world market leader of housing equipment from Vechta-Calveslage, Germany: “This is an especially positive signal and an impressive demonstration of the confidence Big Dutchman has in the Dutch poultry industry.”
