Elevators have always been superior to other egg collection systems, but the new Elevator EQ 210 sets entirely new standards. At this year’s EuroTier 2002, taking place in Hanover (Germany) from 12th until 15th of November, Big Dutchman from Vechta-Calveslage, Germany, will present its new product in Hall 17, stand D 25 (poultry business unit ).
An extra asset of the Elevator EQ 210 consists of the substantially reduced amount of cracked and hair-cracked eggs. Moreover, maintenance works are reduced to a minimum and the cleaning of the elevator has been simplified considerably. This egg collection system is universally suited to both cage and floor management. Experts from the company in Lower Saxony explain: "Thanks to its high egg conveying capacity combined with very careful egg transportion, the Elevator EQ 210 constitutes the best economical solution for modern egg production."
An important advantage of Big Dutchman’s Elevator EQ 210 consists of the same conveying direction of the egg belts, dosing wheels and elevator chain. The smooth conveyance and no enforced changes of direction result in very careful egg transportation. The Elevator EQ 210 can collect eggs simultaneously on up to 8 tiers without egg collisions. Its efficiency is further optimized thanks to the compact construction of the short elevator end set. Andre Mix, responsible for product development at Big Dutchman, explains: "Decisive elevator components have completely been redesigned by means of sophisticated computer-based construction methods. Egg quality can thus be effectively improved."
Five outstanding innovations of Elevator EQ 210:
The elevator transports the eggs very carefully. The following innovations guarantee optimum egg movement:
1. Shock absorbers ensure high quality along with patented two-component dosing wheels for smooth egg transportation
The Elevator EQ 210 is the first egg collection system equipped with two-component dosing wheels. A hard core and a soft, profiled and egg-suitable lip at the outer ring ensure best possible shock absorption when the eggs are transferred from the egg belt into the elevator.
2. Smooth entry – Plastic bars for elevator chain
Plastic bars for the elevator chain carefully collect the eggs. Additional safety struts prevent the eggs from rolling down from the bars. Thus it is no longer necessary to install additional sliding grids. Moreover, the cleaning of the elevator is simplified.
3. Transfer skills – Crossbelt transfer with flexible finger wheel
The new crossbelt transfer with the aptly-named finger wheel ensures a soft change of direction during egg transportation. When the eggs are transferred from the elevator onto the crossbelt, there is always one row of fingers between the eggs rolling out of the elevator and the eggs on the crossbelt, thus preventing collisions. In this case too, the most modern high-quality two-component materials have been used to provide optimum results.
4. Cleaner belts – Optimized shape of egg belt brushes with adapted bristles
The special arrangement of bristles simplifies cleaning. The cleaning effect is further improved by means of harder bristles with longer service life and so the eggs do not get dirty during the movement on the egg belt.
5. Idler and transfer grating with long service life
The polyamide coating adheres well to the metal and at the same time ensures a soft surface suitable for eggs. The high-quality polyamide coating of these components has a high abrasion resistance. Moreover, it is food safe and easy to clean.
The combination of these five innovative features of the Elevator EQ 210 results in a reduction of cracked and hair-cracked eggs, less maintenance work and simplified cleaning. Hence, Big Dutchman’s Elevator EQ 210 constitutes a brilliant economical solution for modern egg production.
