“Natura: Multi-level systems for layers in floor and free range management” is the title of a new Big Dutchman brochure about layer production in poultry systems. The six-page colour brochure contains detailed descriptions, illustrations and several practical examples of intelligently structured multi-level systems that allow housed birds to take advantage of the different levels.
Big Dutchman’s modular system for this production form is called Natura. Inside the house, the birds are free to move wherever they like. The equipment with nests, perches and litter areas enables the hens to act out their natural behavioural patterns.
No matter if it is installed in an already existing house or a new building, the flexible Natura modular system is always the right choice as it allows for optimum space utilisation and custom-made solutions. Several hundred farm projects have already been successfully equipped with the Natura multi-level system; in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and even in the U.S.A. and Japan, approximately 8 million laying hens live in Big Dutchman Natura systems.
