It was a big step for Big Dutchman in Sub-Saharan Africa: the new location in Johannesburg has has now been officially opened.
Inauguration of the new Big Dutchman building a great success
New location in South Africa opened
The previous building with 2,000 square metres of storage space was replaced by a modern new structure: 9,000 square metres for all of the company’s logistical, technical and service needs. The regional logistics centre with office space for the currently 55 employees was constructed within a period of just 1.5 years. The team in South Africa attends to customers from a total of twelve countries.
Apart from light-flooded open-plan offices, the building has conference rooms, retreat areas and, for the first time, showers for the logistics team – an important detail in a region where many people live and work under difficult conditions.
Around 200 guests were on site for the inauguration, including farmers, partners and employees. The grand opening was celebrated with African dances, international music and many personal encounters 🤝, directly in the 12.5 metres high logistics centre.
