For EuroTier 2024, Big Dutchman presents the innovative, cage-free aviary system Natura Life, a trendsetting solution for egg production. For the very first time, rearing and production phases are combined in a single system, i.e. laying hens can remain in the same house from hatching until the end of the batch. Continuously keeping the birds in the same system creates a stress-free environment and sustainably improves both the health and the performance of the birds.

The Natura Life aviary combines rearing and egg production
In contrast to the conventional practice of rearing pullets in one house and then transporting them to a separate layer house, the birds stay in their familiar surroundings in Natura Life. This reduces stress and avoids the risk of injury because transports are no longer necessary. The continuity of staying in the same environment also increases feed intake, which supports faster development and extends the life span of the hens.
At the core of Natura Life lies a modern laying aviary, complemented by rearing equipment that can be removed flexibly. Due to this adaptability, the system works well in any phase – from rearing to production – without compromising bird performance.
